Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF)Windows Presentation Foundation is a rich client technology meant for desktop application development. WPF uses a XAML presentation layer with a C# business logic backend to create a clean separation between design and development. WPF is supported currently on Windows XP and Windows Vista operating systems.

SilverlightSilverlight is Microsoft’s cross-platform, cross-browser plugin for bringing Rich Internet Applications to the web. Built as a subset to WPF, this framework also uses XAML as a presentation layer with a subset of the .NET CLR in the browser. Released in September, 2007 the plugin is already reading 1 in 4 consumers worldwide.

Microsoft SurfaceMicrosoft Surface brings a new level of user interaction to the Microsoft platforms. Based on WPF as a presentation technology, Microsoft Surface also adds object recognition capabilities utilizing a series of infrared cameras.

Windows 7First released to developers at PDC2008, Windows 7 is the next version of the Windows operating system. One unique feature is the addition of a multi-touch input system. IdentityMine recently had the privilege of demonstrating some of this new technology at PDC.
